A to Z - J

For my A to Z Challenge theme I will be posting items that are no longer with us or are close to becoming extinct.

These are great items to use if you are trying to set a time period in your story or to stay away from if you want your story to be timeless.

Javan Tiger went extinct in 1976. The tiger inhabited the Indonesian island of Java until there were too many people and the forest was cleared for rice production and people til only 3% remained .

Josta was introduced in 1995, by Pepsi Co and pulled the drink from its lineup due to a change in corporate strategy in 1999. It was the first energy drink ever introduced by a major US beverage company. It had guarana as a main ingredient and caffeine.

Sadly J has been a hard letter and with me under the weather I am not as resourceful as usual.

We've made it through 2 weeks! Congratulations everyone.
Happy Writing!

  2. I don't remember Josta and I guess I should, judging from the dates. I wonder how it compared to today's energy drinks.

    1. I wish I could help you but I don't drink sodas or energy drinks so I have no idea. I was surprised by the guarana because it was ahead of the nutricutical push and may have been more well received now.

  3. Sad about the tiger. I never heard of Josta. Maybe it wasn't widely distributed before it was pulled.
