Which is why it irks me so much to see someone who could work throw away a job to work the system.
I am a happy recipient of you pursuing your writing ambitions. I am sorry for the circumstances that put you there but happy to share in your future. Thanks so much for the A to Z challenge. I am looking forward to my third year as a finisher of the challenge.Kathryn Thorntonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07755466843555856661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331874526462840096.post-37119691905800807862015-02-25T18:48:01.857-08:002015-02-25T18:48:01.857-08:00After over 30 years in management mostly for the s...After over 30 years in management mostly for the same company, when they closed down their CA office I felt confident that it would be a breeze finding a job. How wrong I was! Out of hundreds of applications I sent out I only got 1 reply and that was for a part time job at Staples at minimum wage. The store closed not long after I got that offer which I declined thinking for sure I could find something better.

I don't know if I was doing something wrong or what or if it's just the state of the economy. Frustrated I went ahead and started collecting my Social Security since I was eligible. Years of experience in management is no guarantee that a job is waiting. I'm among the "overly qualified". If I were younger I think I'd have had a better chance, but as it turned out things aren't terrible and I'm able to devote time to pursuing writing ambitions.

There is a future!

Arlee Bird
A to Z Challenge Co-host
Tossing It Out
Arlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5331874526462840096.post-38912857485629047832015-02-02T21:02:12.663-08:002015-02-02T21:02:12.663-08:00Thank you!
